Oxford, UK (OBBeC) - Oxford Gene Technology (OGT) and BF-BIOlabs have announced the completion of a licensing agreement granting BF-BIOlabs access to OGT’s “Southern array patents”, the fundamental patents covering the manufacture and marketing of oligonucleotide microarrays.

According to the announcement, the granted licence will enable BF-BIOlabs to sell arrays and provide services that include the design and production of custom-made microarrays for gene-identification, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) and gene expression analysis.


BF-BIOlabs designs and produces custom-made microarrays for gene-identification, SNP, and gene-expression analysis, using specialised microarray production processes to achieve optimal specificity and sensitivity. In addition, BF-BIOlabs offers a full service for microarray experiments, chip readout and data analysis. 
The licence will remain valid for the patents’ lifetime. Financial details were not disclosed.
